An America pop diva once said "I believe that children are our future..." And I believe that with ska music, the same is true.

To ensure the survival of ska music, all of us must introduce ska music to the next generation. And that is the basis for this podcast: A Kid-friendly Primer to Ska and Reggae Music.

So rather than focus on past periods of ska music, this Podcast takes kid-friendly music from each era and mixes it up into 70 minutes of great music, spun together with Gabe's special touch.

PLEASE! PLEASE!! PLEASE!!!

Please download this podcast.

Please burn it to a disc.

Please give it away to your niece, nephew, cousin, neighbor's kids, whatever, whomever.

Unlike other genres of music:

Ska music receives little or no airplay on FM radio.
No airplay on MTV or VH1.
You can't go to a newstand and buy a magazine related to ska music.

Simply put, ska music must be physically passed down to new listeners. And that really was the drive behind the genesis of Ska History Month.

I also encourage ska musicians to get involved with SAVE THE MUSIC.

Remember. Tomorrow's ska musicians are learning how to play sax, trumpet, trombone, etc. today!

Next week, my final Ska History Month Podcast: Ska in the New Millennium!
